Microsoft Now Recruiting for Windows 8
A recent job opening at Microsoft indicates that the company is gearing up for Windows 8.
CodenameWindows discovered that Microsoft was recruiting new software engineers for Windows 8. The job listing, originally listed here, now shows that the job is no longer available. However, it revealed that Microsoft sought out new recruits for the planning and preparation of the Windows Update Client for Windows 8.
"We just finished up work on Windows 7, and are pushing forth on Windows 8 planning and preparation," the description read. "There are opportunities to work on a number of hard problems, including third-party application updating, updating virtual machines while they’re turned off (turns out this is pretty hard!), and delivering full applications, among others."
Just to provide an idea what Microsoft was looking for, the job required five years of industry experience, and a BS or greater in Computer Science or related technical fields. Obviously, the job listing indicates that Microsoft may be gearing up to develop Windows 8 despite version 7 just now hitting store shelves last month. It's unknown when the job was filled, or if Microsoft will post other Windows 8-related listings.
Keep an eye out for additional Windows 8 nuggets, possibly in the coming weeks as news of the job listing gets passed around the tech sites.

For peat sake, we have only just got windows 7. Windows 8 should be like, ten years away. I don't want to keep changing OS all the time.
You don't have to. Progress is good.
yea and by the time this arrives, everybody will want to have it too i think because i failed big time with vista but they are back in business now and they start to make good products again, just take a look at windows 7...
This sounds a bit awkward. They don't seem to make the same mistake twice, but they do other mistakes instead. Such as already starting on Windows 8.
The most bothering is that they hardly finished Windows 7 they plunge into the next one without much thought. Whereas taking the time to see how Windows 7 performs with the upcoming Service Pack(s) might be crucial for the next OS.
Such rush won't get them far and as read on some other forums the Windows 8 might just turn out to be another Vista ( hopefully not ).
I understand , that everything for the consumer, but a discussion related on this would really help.
On top of which, I too am eager to see how the new OS , Win 8, will look and perform. But I'm hardly interested in seeing them wasting their time and me wasting my money on buying such a product.
I'm sure MS learned a lot, but lets just see how lot did they truly learn.

What is a "BS" ?
Batchelor of Science?
I imagine BS is the same as a BSc as mi1ez said, and not a Bull S***er of Computer Science.
Wikipedia slates windows 8 for 2012. Due to how reliable wikipedia is I would say this date is guarenteed!
Batchelor of Science?
Thanks I've never seen it annotated that way.
