Micro Solutions today introduced its biometric fingerprint access hard drive. The firm said that the "LockBox" is is the first high-capacity portable hard drive to use a fingerprint sensor to restrict access to files, which offers greater security for sensitive business and personal data.
The drive integrates a fingertip-size Active Imaging Sensor on the top outer panel of the device - through which the user is authenticated. The lock box is available with capacities of 80, 120, and 200 GByte and is priced at $199, $249 and $249, respectively. The drives will be available in July from online resellers such as CDW, Insight and PC Connection.
