Mexican Ministry of Education buys 27,000 Opteron workstations

Sun today said that the Mexican Ministry of Education has agreed to purchase to buy more than 27,000 AMD Opteron-based workstations over a period of five years. The deal is valued at $400 million and is the largest for Sun in Latin America to date.
The Ministry of Education said it plans to install the systems in fifth- and six-grade classrooms in Mexico’s national public school system.
