Couple in China sue metro for kissing video broadcast
A couple in China are suing Shanghai Metro Co for posting a video of the two of them kissing in the station on the web.
The couple say they are extremely embarrassed and that the man recently resigned from his job after receiving phone calls from relatives and friends.
The couple say they are taking legal action because they feel it is an invasion of privacy and claim that they are suing to protect the privacy of other passengers just as much as their own.
A "mocking" voice can be heard in the background of the video and the couple has said they are "extremely embarrassed".
"We think employees of the metro station taped us illegally and made negative comments.
"What’s worse, they uploaded the video to the Internet, which has infringed on our rights," the man was quoted as saying.
Following their own investigations, the couple confirmed the video was shot at the Youyi subway station on Line 3.
There’s a reason it’s called a Public Display of Affection
