Metacafe brings its videos to your mobile
Video entertainment site, Metacafe, has announced that it will join forces with Nareos and Zed to enable users to access mobile, anywhere, anytime content.
Metacafe has integrated “Send to Mobile” functionality, which allows users to stream or download selected videos to their mobile devices.
Both Nareos and Zed offer a downloadable mobile application that enables instant access to videos.
Nareos is currently enabling this capability for Metacafe viewers in Germany, The Netherlands, Italy, England, India and Sweden while Zed is currently enabling this capability for viewers in Spain and the U.S.
Metacafe expects to extend “Send to Mobile” functionality to viewers in other markets in the coming months.
Alexander Zaidelson, vice president of business development for Nareos said that mobile entertainment is becoming increasingly popular and the demand for short-form videos because they provide entertainment in a matter of minutes.
Nareos Inc. was established in January 2005, and develops know-how and services at the junction of Mobile Social Networking and Peer-to-Peer Networking.
Javier Pérez Dolset, Founder and CEO of Zed was quoted as saying, “As the leading mobile content company, a collaboration between Zed and Metacafe, one of the leaders in Web 2.0 services, is the logical transition for expanding social networks to the mobile sphere”
Zed develops and markets entertainment and community products and services for mobile and the Internet.
