Iriver Clix Gen 2
Interesting and unique gifts are often perfect for quirky individuals who like to be seen with quirky things. The original Iriver Clix made its mark with a unique control system that meant users clicked the edges of the screen to access functions like volume and playback control. This won many over, as it represented a fast, easy to learn way to control the player and maximised screen space.
The second generation Iriver Clix is a feature-packed improvement on its predecessor, with the ability to read text files, view images or a calendar, all while the music plays. It comes with a built in FM tuner, which it can record from to listen to later, and hooks up to a PC using the mini USB port on the side. With support for MPEG-4 and WMV9 the Clix has targeted formats that compress nicely to maximse space on the 2GB 4GB and 8GB models. There is no easy way to convert to these files included, so whoever ends up with this ntriguing gift will want some technicial knowledge togo with their love of audio/visual entertainment on the go.
Those with an interest n the strange and unusual forms technology can take will love the second generation Clix from Iriver, as it represents an entirely new direction. In a time when touch-screens are becoming the popular option the Clix presents a far more tactile experience.

While the article is weak on the technical details of each player, my main concern is that it fails to mention the Archos 605 Wifi which beats the two siblings you did review (the 404 and 705) hands down.
In addition the review includes the two year old Cowon A2 at a time when its successor had already started shipping (the A3).
Perhaps a follow up with these two players included?
