Having your medical records sent from one doctor to another can be a hassle. It can also cause delays in your medical care. MedeFile International, Inc., a company specializing in portable electronic medical records management solutions, today announced that it has begun developing a new extension to its services platform called MedeMobile, which is expected to enable premium MedeFile subscribers to access personal health and medical information maintained in MedeFile’s electronic medical records management system via any web-enabled PDA or cell phone. MedeFile combines portable, electronic medical records management technology and the Internet to make medical data instantly accessible to each MedeFile subscriber and his or her authorized healthcare providers from anywhere in the world. In addition to accessing your medical records through MedeFile’s secure Internet portal, you can carry your entire medical history and emergency information wherever you go on a device called a MedeDrive, which is a proprietary USB drive designed to be carried on a keychain. The MedeDrive plugs into any USB port of a Windows-based PC ; and because MedeDrive automatically loads its own viewer, users do not require any special programs or software to view data. MedeMobile is expected to be launched sometime later this year.
