MechWarrior 4 Now Available for Free Download

Late last month, MekTek Studios revealed that Microsoft had finally cleared MechWarrior 4 for free release.

If you've been following the drama surrounding the free release of Mechwarrior4, than you would be aware that the initial announcement, made last summer, was a bit premature. After nearly a year since the announcement came, MekTek Studios is pleased to announce, that Microsoft Legal has given the all clear for the free release of Mechwarrior4. This hallmark movement by Microsoft Games couldn't come at a better time, as the Mechwarrior community is attempting a rebirth, amidst announcement of a Mechwarrior Reboot. Thank you Microsoft.

Yep, MTX is a pile of garbage. It lasted a full 5 minutes on my PC, and that´s only because it took 4 minutes to uninstall...

I found the torrent file can be found in the temp directory of MTX - so you can use a different torrent app, yay!

Whats the file called?

I found it in \MTX\temp\games\torrents and for me it was called mechwarrior4mercenaries.all.to.51.03.01.0017.mtx.torrent

I imagine it will be the only torrent file there though.

The file downloaded has a .mtx extension but it's just an archive that winRAR has managed to extract it.
