The roadmaps Intel recently sent to its manufacturing customers foreshadow the company's intention to kick the Pentium III to the curb and make way for the P4 by progressively lowering prices over the next three months. According to the Inquirer, Intel will push its 850 chipset/P4 combination for corporate platforms, and the 1.20GHz and 1.13GHz Tualatin will ship to its customers in June. The 1.3GHz P4 will disappear in Q3 of this year and 2.2GHz P4s should come to light by year's end. For a more complete overview of the P4's future check out The Inquirer . The site also has roadmaps for Intel server and mobile processors.
