Say Goodbye to the "I'm a Mac/I'm a PC" Ads!
I'm crushed. Are you crushed?
Let's all take a moment to mourn the loss of Apple's snotty "I'm a Mac/I'm a PC" commercials. Justin Long, the Mac half of the commercials, has said that he's pretty sure there won't be anymore of the ads.
In an interview with AV Club, Long was asked, "What's the status of those Apple commercials?"
Justin responded:
"You know, I think they might be done. In fact, I heard from John, I think they’re going to move on. I can’t say definitively, which is sad, because not only am I going to miss doing them, but also working with John. I’ve become very close with him, and he’s one of my dearest, greatest friends. It was so much fun to go do that job, because there’s not a lot to it for me. A lot of it is just keeping myself entertained between takes, and there’s no one I’d rather do it with than John."
There's been no official word on whether or not Apple is axing the spots. They could just be getting rid of the actors and going for some new talent. Any suggestions?

Love the Wii (not the console!)
I need one of those Wii's to get back in shape... really need one to get back in shape... lol
oh and on that pc mac subject; i think they are axing them... people thought they were funny, in the beggining, but by now people just go: "oh its just another one of those ads mac does..."
I guess this'll mean an end to the UK versions of those ads, not that I've seen them in a while, mind.
"I'm an iPad, and I'm a Slate"
*shudder*
"I'm an iPad, and I'm a Slate"*shudder*
Unless, of course, the iPad actor is a contortionist who can bend over and shove his head right up his ass...
I'll take two of those Wiis and a hotel room please.
On another note, i haven't see a "I'm a PC" advert in ages. On the contrary, i don't watch much tv.
I would not mind playing with that wii!
The PS3 girl should have been a hot brunette dominatrix who whipped the blonde bimbo Wii's arse!
I think they lost their effect once even the mainstream audience started seeing them as just reinforcing the negative Apple user stereotype.
The ads were amusing very early on but so quickly became disingenuous with misinformation in their comparisons that I'm certainly very glad to see them go.
