Study shows Mac owners are more openminded and confident
New York (NY) – Open minded people are more likely to purchase a Mac, according to a new survey released by Mindset Media. The company interviewed 7500 people and found that liberal thinkers were 60 percent more likely to buy a Mac. These same people were also less modest and more sure of their own superiority than the rest of the population.
Mindset Media places these “enlightened” people into a category called “Opennes 5’s” folks. People in that category are also more “receptive to their own inner feelings and may feel both happiness and unhappiness more intensely than others.”
Sarah Welch, COO and co-founder of Mindset Media, said, "For the first time, marketers with brands that have distinctive Mindset Profiles, like Apple, can directly reach the people with the personality and attitudes that love what they sell."
Mindset Media isn’t disclosing the methodology used in the survey, so PC owners may still have a chance. Maybe I should plunk down $3,000+ for one of those new Macbook Airs and get in touch with my inner self.

lol, what a load of rubbish.
Macintosh is simply an anti-microsoft bandwagon fad. ;p
we all know they're inferior, but they're going against the man! vive la revolution! - pfft, no.
even macintosh are going down the anti-open for all route now and have been for years with their ipods and itunes, so much for mac users' open mindset.
i've used macs on many occasions, and i always come away dissapointed and appauled with those silly machines.. guess that makes me part of the other 40% of people huh?
No doubt the research was paid for by Apple. Apple users are sheeple, the kind of people who buy Guinness because its apparently cool. Wincing as they sip it talking cr£p about the latest art house movie.
Apple is one of the least open companies on the earth and people who buy them should know this being apparently open minded. Open minded to some kind of contractual drm infested bondage if anything. I would love to see how much O2 paid to get exclusivity of the iphone in Britain, which is illegal in Germany and Belgium btw. Apple is like the drunken sh$g of the technology world, looks good until you get down to things and you discover warted drm and purposely liposuctioned functionality.
Who writes your straplines !!
This was NOT a survey of Mac owners so the conclusion is nothing to do with what Mac owners are or are not. All the many Mac owners I have encountered tend to be amongst the most blinkered and closeminded people I know!
