MSN UK Launches News App for iPad Users
MSN UK arrives on the iPad.
MSN has launched an iPad-specific application for users in the United Kingdom. Offering users current news, sport, and entertainment articles, and videos, the app's launch follows the launch of a redesigned look for MSN UK's website and, as a result, has the same look and feel of the MSN UK site.
"We've designed the app so it has the familiarity of the MSN UK you love," MSN UK's D Waters said in a blog post. "We think it’s a great way to enjoy MSN – at home, at work and whenever you get the urge to enjoy our great content."
Aside from offering sports, entertainment, and current affairs news, users can also access their Hotmail accounts and search Bing from within the application. Microsoft also mentions an offline feature. Presumably, this won't extend to video but you can still read the latest news and features without a connection. Redmond says it plans to update the app with more features in the future, so we're going to keep our fingers crossed and hope to see customizable feeds and the like with the next version.
