Metal Gear Solid Mobile bags two awards at IMGA
Konami today announced that Metal Gear Solid Mobile had done itself proud at the International Mobile Gaming Awards. Bagging both the Grand Prix and the Operator’s Choice awards. Wahey !
The Jury of the IMGA picked a total of 6 winners out of the almost 400 entries from 33 countries.
Metal Gear Solid Mobile will be available for purchase in late February at Verizon Wireless in the Get Fun & Games shopping aisle of the Get It Now virtual store.
The Mobile version of Metal Gear solid is similar to the MGS series previously released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. One noticeable difference is that the mobile version takes advantage of the phone’s camera functionality. Using the camera to sample colors from the real world it creates an in-game camouflage system. It is also possible to shift the viewpoint from first to third person, which is always handy.
Joe Morris, Vice President of Konami Mobile, is, naturally, chuffed with the awards.
“Konami deeply appreciates this commendation bestowed upon us by the global gaming community and our carrier partners. This game is illustrative of our approach to mobile gaming ; representing our long standing focus on innovation, quality and overall excellence. We are confident that the fans will be enthralled with the 3D graphics and novel game play. Konami is eagerly looking forward to the impending domestic launch of this landmark title.”
