Finally, internet stalking that doesn’t end up with a man outside in your bushes. Patrick Moberg, a 21 year old New Yorker from Brooklyn, was riding the subway when he saw “the girl of his dreams”.
Moberg spent the entire journey “physcing himself up” to go and talk to the woman. But alas, the man couldn’t think of anything to convey how strongly he felt about her without seeming insane and when they both got off (hehe), he lost her in the crowd.
So he did what we’d all do: he rushed home and set up a website dedicated to her, or rather finding her. Nope, not crazy. At all.
Mr Moberg posted a picture of himself and the mystery girl on a site he created called NYGirlOfMyDreams.com. He labeled the girls clothes and hair and for convenience sake, his mental health (“not insane” in case you’re confused). He also included his email address and phone number, should anyone who sees the site actually know the girl.
Patrick was then inundated with emails from fellow internet crazies all claiming to be the woman from the subway. Eventually a friend of the girl emailed him a picture so he could confirm she was the one.
Patrick and his mystery woman (who turned out to be 22 year-old Australian magazine intern, Camille Hayton) have since met for coffee and the next day appeared on “Good Morning America”. Camille told ABC that her week was just getting weirder as her apartment had burnt down the previous Monday. So, now homeless, a stalker is just what the doctor ordered.
The website, rather unfairly, now tells us that seeing as how Moberg has found the girl from the subway, we can all mind our own business with regard to their business. I think not. We find the love of his life and this is the thanks we get?
