Initial Schedule for London Games Festival Revealed
The eagerly awaited timetable for the London Games Festival is finally out, and with the website boasting 33 scheduled events and more to follow it looks like a busy couple of weeks for London gamers this month.
The festival officially kicks off on the 22nd of October with Dare at the Festival, a tour of the video game prototypes designed by competitors in Dare to be Digital, the UK’s leading game design competition for college students, however there is scheduled “DS pub meetups” with the first being held on the 20 October in the Yorkshire Grey on Langham St in London.
The lineup for the festival promises to be as diverse as possible with everything from a Careers Fair which gives game fans a chance to meet some of the industry’s professionals on the 23rd/24th to a performance by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of music from classic games such as Mario and Sonic and the more recent Halo, Zelda and Final Fantasy.
Some of the events in between include the British Academy Video Game awards, The London Gamer Geeks Quiz, a Games Production and Globalisation Seminar, the 25th Annual Golden Joystick Awards and a seminar on Classifying games at the BBFC which is sure to mention the recent hubbub regarding Manhunt 2.
