Weighing up the pros and cons
On the other hand the Side Winder seems a bit more of an uncompromising device. It’s very impressive, almost to the point of being daunting, and seems to be designed to require the user’s entire hand. Its design is very impressive. It has a good sensor and adapted commands. Its dimensions are well suited to its Teflon skates, so much so that it would be hard to imagine the mouse without them. Its three on-demand sensitivity modes allow you to go from one type of use to another more easily than the G9. In addition to this the mouse’s drivers manage the button assignment profiles in the function of applications and the macros. However, Microsoft’s materials choices do make it a specifically gaming mouse. It is particularly adept in this arena provided you use it with an open hand and move it using your forearm predominantly.
The time to crown a winner is upon us. You will have understood by now that Logitech’s G9 has a certain number of arguments in its favour and has proven to be much more versatile than its competition. It does this while giving the performances that modern gamers have come to expect. Finally it’s coupled with a great program which, as we’ve said, is almost unprecedented for a Logitech product. Luckily for the Microsoft Side Winder Mouse, and its colleagues, all is not lost. The G9 sets a new record for price. It’s official price is estimated to be either a maximum of €100 (which is considerably above average) or a minimum of €80. We did not have a confirmed price at the time of writing. If the Side Winder Mouse is sold at a €20 discount there’s every chance people will turn away from the G9. The G9 will also suffer competition from the Razer, DeathAdder and the Microsoft Habu, that we now find at progressively lower prices. It is up to you to see if the possibility of personalising the weight of the mouse, its macro management and its gaming orientation justifies saving an extra €20.
Logitech G9 Laser Mouse With performances of very high level, a successful design and commands, a program section which is finally meets expectations and with remarkable versatility, the G9 is truly a new benchmark in high-performance mice. All this as well as a slightly off-putting price tag. The choice, as always, is yours. The Pros

The formatting on that is appalling! You can hardly tell which mouse they're talking about!!!
I agree with mi1ez - the article jumps back and forth between mice comparison with no warning, I am often lost as to which one I am reading about.
I managed to follow it fairly easily... still I'd rather see them put something up against the 4000 dpi beast that is the Razer Lachesis *pets his Lachesis while submitting comment*
