Last year it seemed like everyone was jumping on the smartphone bandwagon. This year it's even worse. Here's a company that we never thought would release a phone. Meet Lenovo's LePhone.

At CES last week Lenovo announced an Android device for the Chinese market. The LePhone packs a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, a 3.7-inch (800x480) capacitive touchscreen, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a three megapixel camera (and an additional, forward-facing camera presumably for video conferencing), GPS and WiFi.

What's probably the neatest part about the LePhone is that Lenovo is also offering an external keyboard for those who can't bear the thought of a virtual key. It clips on like sort of a hard case but no word on if it'll offer any protection for the phone itself.

As far as price, release and carrier goes, we're all still in the dark but according to Engadget, it's hitting China first. Hopefully we'll hear more details soon.
