Computex 2008: LEDs In Niche Market Applications
LED industry players indicated that while the market for LEDs used in large-size TV panels is still immature and that Taiwan companies are still unable to enter the supply chain for high-end notebook backlighting, LED backlights have started to enter niche markets such as the medical and transportation sectors. At Computex 2008, Taiwan LCD maker Litemax is demonstrating a 12.1" LED backlit monitor using its self-developed advanced optibond technology (AOT), which can reduce sunlight reflection and remove moisture.
