Just Cause 2 Demo Released Next Week

by - source: Tom's Hardware US

The demo of Just Casue 2 lands on Steam next week.

Square Enix announced early Friday that a playable demo of Just Cause 2 will be available on Steam next week. The demo thrusts players into the Launtan Lama Desert, 35 square miles of pure sun-scorched scenery, and one of many islands players will explore in the full retail game.

Square Enix promised that the demo will have loads to accomplish: devastate military bases, assassinate a military colonel, unlock a multi-stage mission, and more. "It’s easily one of the biggest freeroaming demos of all time and for fans of openworld games, it’s unmissable," said Lee Singleton, General Manager of Square Enix London Studios.

Unfortunately, the PC version will not support Windows XP. Frustrated PC gamers will need to check out Just Cause 2 on the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 when the demo launches March 4. The full game hits retail stores on March 23.

I'll be checking this out to see how good the DX10 is in this game with it's lack of DX9 implementation!

it should be one of the better directx10 games around being that it was built from the ground up with full directx10 implementation from the start

I thought JC1 was pretty naff - hopefully the sequel will be much improved. I'll check it out on the PS3.

Not sure how "built from the ground up" for Dx10 it will be. you'd have to presume the PC version will use the Dx9 '360 version as a starting point... odd business decision really considering the XBox will force Dx9 development in some form until it is replaced.
