Jeremy Clarkson allegedly caught talking on his mobile while driving
Jeremy Clarkson could face a sixty quid charge and three points off his licence if allegations that he was talking on his mobile phone while driving at 70 mph turn out to be true.
Jeremy Clarkson is famous for banging on about motoring laws on Top Gear, which is why we’re so amused to see that one couple managed to snap a photo of Clarkson apparently talking on his phone near Silverstone racing circuit on last Friday morning.
22 year old Adam Blake said that his girlfriend noticed Clarkson as he over took them in their car. She whipped out her own phone and took a picture before the two switched to the fast lane and beeped at the presenter as they were passing him by.
The couple then turned the photo over to the Daily Mirror who in turn turned it over to police. The Mirror also paid Mr Clarkson a visit to ask him about the alleged incident. Clarkson denied he was on the telephone and according to the Daily Mail, when he was shown the photo, Jeremy said it wasn’t a mobile phone and that he couldn’t talk to them because he writes for another newspaper.
Police have said they are investigating the incident.
Jeremy Clarkson recently made headlines when he claimed the loss of those two discs with the details of 25 million people was a “storm in a teacup”. He then printed his own details in the paper to demonstrate. . .well, we’re not quite sure what he was trying to demonstrate. He got scammed anyway, and later retracted his storm in a teacup statement.
