Intel Q4 Numbers, Net Income Up 875 Percent
Things are looking considerably brighter considering the results posted in Q4 2008.
Despite a few minor antitrust-related hiccups along the way, Intel did well last quarter. Really well. The chip giant this week released its fourth quarter results for 2009, announcing an 875 percent jump in net revenue from the same period last year.
Intel posted revenue of $10.6 billion, up $2.3 billion and 28 percent year-over-year. Operating income was $1.5 billion, up $958 million and 62 percent year-over-year. All this amounted to a net income of $2.3 billion, an 875 percent or $2 billion increase year-over-year.
That $2.3 billion from Q4 actually accounted for a large chunk of Intel's overall net income for 2009. The company posted a 2009 net income of $4.4 billion.

The EU should fine them more money for some random reason, then fund community projects with it... or just pay back the taxpayers for the recent banker bailout
"an 875 percent jump in net revenue from the same period last year. "
They should make the chips cheaper(all, not just CPU's). They are getting to much money in surplus.
Im still using the old AMD64 FX55 San Diego core, works well, but later this year will be an upgrade. Not once have I ever considered or have bought for anyone else an intel processor. My last one was a Pentium 200 MMX, ever since i've gone for AMD processors and will do so along with AMD/ATI gpu's aslong as the companies continue to make great products. Intel may have the fastest performing chips with the core i7, but the meager performance gain over AMD cannot be justified at such over the top prices.
