IFA 2007: Joybook R56.G06 & G11 - BenQ unveils new Notebooks
BenQ is introducing two new notebooks called Joybook R56.G06 and Joybook R56.G11. The company is going against the trend, as both models will use standard, non-glossy displays. The displays themselves use a resolution of 1280x800 pixels and are rated at 8ms.
Both notebooks are based on Intel’s Santa Rosa platform. A look inside the R56.G06 reveals an Intel Core 2 Duo T7100 with 2MB of L2 cache running at 1.83 GHz on an 800 MHz FSB. The R56.G11 is built around a Core 2 Duo T5250 CPU with 2 MB of L2 cache running at 1.5 GHz on a 667 MHz FSB. Both models use Intel’s 965 PM chipset.
A look at the specifications of the two models reveals further differences where hard drive capacity and RAM-size are concerned. While the R56.G06 sports a 160 GB hard drive and 2 GB of RAM, the R56.G11 features a smaller 120 GB drive and comes with only 1 GB of system memory. In both cases, the graphics solution consists of Nvidia’s 8400M G with 128 MB of dedicated RAM and TurboCache technology. Both models also feature a 4-in-1 card reader, an 8x dual-layer DVD burner, an HDMI plug, an eSATA connector, and a 1.3 mega pixel camera.
These units should hit stores towards the middle of September at prices of £750 / €1,099 (R56.G06) and £670 / €999 (R56.G11).
