A Look Inside – Power Supply, Cooler, and Card Reader
There isn’t all that much hardware inside the Hiper HMC-2K53-A3. The motherboard is certainly the most striking feature, and its red colour definitely ensures it will catch your eye. In its shipping state, Hiper’s HTPC still lacks a CPU, a cooler, RAM, a hard, and an optical drive. The cable routing, if it can even be called that, is very poorly implemented. To be fair, it’s not like Hiper’s engineers had a lot to work with in this slim and cramped case, and those thick power supply cables have to go somewhere. Still, some of the cables simply lie around willy-nilly. Luckily, this gets a little better once you install the remaining hardware.
A small fan on the motherboard provides some airflow to the case. It runs very quietly and is not at all distracting in use. The power supply sports an additional two fans which are also barely audible.
