Halo 3 expected to boost Xbox 360 demand
Lite-On IT, the largest Taiwan-based maker of optical disc drives (ODDs), may obtain more orders from Microsoft for internal DVD-ROM drives for the Xbox 360 game console due to the Halo 3 video game, which is scheduled for launch on September 25, according to industry sources in Taiwan. Microsoft last week announced that pre-sale orders of Halo 3 in North America exceeded one million units, the sources indicated.
