Microsoft launches Halo 3 contest
This week Microsoft and Bungie are offering Halo 3 fans a chance to shoot their own Halo 3 movie and be in with a chance to win a trip to L.A. for a month long film-making trip. Failing that, you might bag yourself an Xbox 360 elite. Snazzy, eh ?
Microsoft seems to be milking this Halo 3 thing for all it’s worth and the contest is pretty simple. The contest page (click here if you’d like to see for yourself or even enter) is open to a few select countries (I am miffed that Ireland isn’t one of them but I’m not paid to sulk).
Residents of the following 11 countries are eligible for entry : Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom.
They’re basically looking for a “behind the scenes” movie for Halo 3. The website cites high school reunions and family game shows as examples of what kind of direction you might like to take when you’re producing your film.
One winner will be chosen from each country and then the final 11 will be judged with the best entry winning the trip to L.A.
Microsoft invites you to use editing, clay, dubbing and pretty much “anything you can get your hands on”, which is a very open-ended statement, in my opinion. . .
“The creators of Halo 3 and a team from Microsoft will pick the most exciting and creative movies. Make them laugh and you’re in.”
You heard them, would be comedians/film makers click here to for the contest page or here to enter. The contest opens on the 31st of this month and runs until March 21st.
