[CeBIT 2008] - Video Converter for HDTV

by - source: Tom's Hardware UK

The ASUS HDTV Suite-HDMI is a video converter box that can output HDTV sources to any PC screen. Using an adapter, you can hook up an HD player or a Playstation 3 to your monitor.

The converterbox, named HDTV Suite-HDMI by ASUS, converts any virtually any kind of HD signal to HDMI, DVI or VGA output, allowing the use of displays that aren’t really HDTV compliant. Analogue TV signals can also be converted for use with HDMI, DVI or VGA displays. The box’s inputs are not only suited for DVD, Blu-ray or HD-DVD players, but will also let you attach consoles such as the PS3, PS2, Xbox360, Xbox, and the Wii. It even comes with a PiP mode (picture-in-picture).

The box provides output with a resolution of up to 1920 x 1200 pixels in HDTV format and provides practically anything a current TV set requires to make HDTV look even better - Advanced 3D Comb, Dynamic Deblocking, Dynamic Anti-flicker Brightness Adjustment, and Flesh Tone Correction.
