Activision offers free replacement discs for Guitar Hero 3
Santa Monica (CA) - Owners of the Wii version of Guitar Hero 3 disappointed in the fact that it only provides mono output will be able to receive a new copy for free that contains stereo output.
"We recently became aware that some consumers have not been able to enjoy the full audio output in the Nintendo Wii version of Guitar Hero III : Legends of Rock," said Activision spokesperson Rhy-Ming Poon. "We expect to have re-mastered discs available by early 2008 and we will be offering consumers replacement discs at no cost once they become available."
All other versions of Guitar Hero 3 offer both mono and stereo sound output. The game, including in the Wii version, includes a "Dolby Pro Logic II" logo, causing many gamers to cry foul at the limited audio options on the Wii.
The replacement disc will be available in early 2008, though Activision did not detail the process users would need to go through to receive the new copy.
