Electronic books or E-books could take off if Google has its way. According to the Times Online, the Sunnyvale-based search engine giant will expand its Google Book Search to include more books along with downloadable content to mobile devices.
Google already offers full PDF downloads of older out-of-print books. Last August, the company partnered up with the University of California to digitize more than 2.5 million books.
In another university deal, Google just signed up with the University of Texas to digitize more than 1 million books, periodicals and maps. The books will be from the Nettie Lee Benson collection which documents Latin American culture and history.
