Supermicro Announces Motherboards With Intel G45 And G43 Chipsets
Even though Intel has not formally announced its chipsets yet, we have seen several announcements already talking about new products based on G45 and G43, code-named Eaglelake. Supermicro was one of those companies jumping the gun a bit early, announcing new desktop platforms that promise "workstation performance for the desktop."
The company’s new ATX boards integrate one PCIe 2.0 x16 slot, support for high-definition 7.1 channel audio via an S/PDIF connector as well as six analog audio outputs, six SATA ports, twelve USB ports, a PCIe x16 slot (x4 electrical), a PCI-E x1 slot, legacy 32-bit PCI slots as well as a Gigabit LAN port.
