G-Whizz electric car bursts into flames
G-Whizz electric eco-cars are being recalled today as it emerged that one of them burst into flames.
The Indian-made electric cars, which cost over £7,000, can be recharged at any plug socket. Famous people who own G-Whizzes (G-Whizzi) include Johnathon Ross and Kristen Scott Thomas and Jerry Hall.
The recall is apparently just a precautionary measure so owners shouldn’t start counting their blessings that they weren’t engulfed in a fiery G-Whizz inferno before now. The combustion was allegedly caused by a faulty heat-sensitive cut-out switch.
The recalled cars will be fitted with brand new cut-out switches that have a flame retardant cover. Again, like all the other concepty cars, it doesn’t go very fast and its not that pretty. Oh, and they come in ridiculous colours. Does one dare speculate if this “spontaneous” combustion was the work of the Fashion Police ?
