Logitech Announces New PC Gaming Peripherals

by - source: Tom's Hardware US

Logitech launched three new gaming peripherals for the PC.

If you're looking for a little love from Logitech in the gaming department, the company has added three new peripherals to its G-Series line: the Wireless Gaming Headset G930, the Wireless Gaming Mouse G700, and the Gaming Keyboard G510. All three products are currently up for purchase on Logitech's website, but are also slated to hit retail shelves soon.

The Wireless Gaming Headset G930 features "gaming-grade" wireless technology designed specifically for two-way, uncompressed audio streaming. They also provide 7.1 Dolby surround sound support, three programmable G-keys for controlling music levels, voice morphing, and chat client volumes. Memory foam keeps the headband comfortable while plush ear pads ward off any outside noise.

Logitech's Wireless Gaming Mouse G700 was designed for MMOG players while keeping FPS fans in mind. Its ergonomic design keeps the hand comfortable while 13 "precisely placed" controls offer the user plenty of customization. A full-speed wireless connection--reporting 1000 times per second--reduces lag without crippling in-game performance.

The wired peripheral in the trio--the Gaming Keyboard G510--features 18 programmable G-keys with three mode states, providing up to 54 possible macro settings per game. The built-in GamePanel LCD display renders PC performance data and real-time game stats while the keyboard's RBG backlighting (somewhat) illuminates the desktop day or night.

The Wireless Gaming Headset G930 carries a $159.99 pricetag, making it the most expensive in the bunch. The Gaming Keyboard G510 trails behind in second place, priced at $119.99. The Wireless Gaming Mouse G510 falls into third with a $99.99 pricetag.

I still love my G15, and it's still going strong after 4 years with barely a mark. The G700 does look like it would be a worthy upgrade from my MX Revolution which would be a great move to my laptop. No other mouse has had enough buttons to tempt me to upgrade until now.

I have been loving my Logitech gear.

My Mk 1 G15 was great until our cat spilled a glass of red wine on it

Replaced that with a nice new, rather expensive, G19...

Loved it too (they could have made the volume wheel metal for that price or feel more.... "solid").

But now, just out of warrenty most of the MR buttons and menu control keys have stopped working (nothing spilled and never dropped + always handled carefully) - I think it is hopefully just a loose connection inside somehow and once I take it appart will be an easy fix.

Would still buy another - just feeling a little grumpy right now after spending so much

Some pets just don't know when they've had enough to drink.

I think it's a shame that there aren't more ergonomic keyboards about, especially when you get to this sort of price range. Unless you've had your elbows glued together in some unfortunate accident normal shaped keyboards seem slightly inferior.
