Fujitsu Launches a Windows 7 Tablet for €699

by - source: Mobile Whack

There’s no shortage of Android tablets available, so when it comes to slates running Windows, Redmond is a little outnumbered. Today Fujitsu threw is throwing another hat in the ring with the launch of its 10-inch Stylistic Q550.

Currently on show at CeBIT in Hanover, the the Q550 is aimed at the enterprise market. Right now, it’s unclear as to whether or not Fujitsu will even allow regular customers to purchase (the HP Slate is enterprise-only but anyone can buy it), but those who are can expect to pay €699 and up for the device.

Specswise you’re looking at a 10.1-inch WXGA IPS display (both finger and stylus input supported), Intel’s Atom processor, 2GB of RAM, up to 64GB of SSD storage and the option for a Gobi HSPA radio capable of 14.4Mbps download and 5.76Mbps upload. Of course, this is a Windows tablet, so you’ll also have the choice for either Windows 7 Home Premium or Professional.

The Stylistic Q550 is going on sale globally March 1, but pricing for other markets, along with full specs, won’t be announced until then.

Does not compute - surely enterprise customers will use Windows 7 Enterprise? As for Home Premium, that has to be for "regular customers".

We're getting closer - will keep an eye out on which Atom has gone into this lil puppy.

The boss is intrigued by tablets and looking at getting some for work, this one could fit the bill if the Atom is up to it.
