Facebook and iTunes team up to offer users music
Here it is folks, your weekly dose of Facebook debauchery.
Usually when we harp on about Facebook it’s because of some controversial advertising campaign or because a group doesn’t seem to have any real point other than carrots.
It’s rare that we find something about Facebook that actually seems worthwhile. More applications than you care to count and so few that actually seem to serve a purpose or function.
Now however, Facebookers will be pleased to note that the social notworking site has teamed up with iTunes to provide the previously silent site with a little bit of music.
For years MySpace waved it’s musical banner in Facebook’s. . .well, face. The fact that bands could display their work on MySpace meant that many opted for the less popular site over Facebook.
The new application means users who sign up to be fans of a band or artist can listen, rate and review the songs they post as well as receive messages from them.
Along with this, it also gives artists the ability to post updates on fans’ pages and sell tickets and merchandise too.
Lets hope this is just the beginning of useful applications for the site and please, no more carrots !!
