Fable 3 For PC in May with Hardcore, 3D Vision

Fable 3 for Windows PC will have an exclusive "Hardcore" mode and support Nvidia 3D Vision.

While coughing up a load of Xbox 360 news regarding Gears of War 3, Halo: Reach and other titles, Thursday Microsoft also revealed details about the upcoming PC version of Fable 3. Although the game has resided on the current Microsoft console since October 2010, PC gamers will finally get their fair share on May 17 here in the States, May 19 in Australia and May 20 across Europe.

According to the press announcement, Fable 3 will come packed with a PC-exclusive "Hardcore" mode which offers a higher level of difficulty. It will also feature support for Nvidia's 3D Vision technology and "the same great action found on the console game."

At this point, the hardware minimum/recommended requirements are unknown, but gamers wanting to experience the Nvidia 3D Vision aspect will need at least 1 GB of RAM, 100 MB of HDD space, Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon X2 CPU or higher CPUs, Windows Vista 32/64-bit or Windows 7 32/64-bit, Nvidia's kit, a 3D Vision-ready display and a compatible Nvidia card.

In related news, Fable: Coin Golf will officially land on Windows Phone 7 in March. This app "draws upon the wealth of traditional British pub games" and allows players to transfer their winnings to Fable 3 on the Xbox 360 or Windows. Players can also unlock three exclusive weapons that can be used in the Traitor's Keep DLC slated to hit Xbox LIVE Marketplace on March 1 for 560 Microsoft Points.

"The Traitor’s Keep game add-on continues the journey as fans venture into three new levels called Ravenscar Keep, Clockwork Island, and the Godwin Estate, taking on new quests and encountering a mysterious prisoner," Lionhead Studios reports. "Traitor’s Keep also comes packed with 250 gamerscore points and additional content."

Fable 3 for the PC will be released in retail outlets and in digital format exclusively on Games for Windows – LIVE. Although not officially announced, the Traitor's Keep DLC may also be available for the PC version when it launches in May.
