FYE Poster Advertises PS3 Price Cut
PlayStation fans have been waiting for a PS3 price cut for a very long time. Could this be it?
The most recent rumors cited Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia as saying “industry sources indicate Sony is planning a $100 price cut on the PS3 in mid-August, just prior the launch of Madden (8/18) and the start of the back to school shopping season.”
This rumor hit the tubes a while ago, so it took me a while to notice that today is actually the day we were supposed to see said price cut. While there's been no official announcement so far, we do have this nice poster from a Kotaku reader who claims to work for FYE. It promises $100 off your 80GB PS3, bringing the price to a nice round $299 as well as the option for a 160GB PS3 with Uncharted for $399. Altogether now, oooooh!
Sony has a press conference planned for noon today, ET so we'll be sure to keep you posted on any announcements.
