Zyxel NSA-220: Web Interface and A/V Server
Summary
The ZyXEL NSA-220 is a classical NAS server that can work with up to two internal SATA drives. Two more drives can be added externally using the USB interface. A Gigabit Ethernet interface provides network connectivity. Like the Fujitsu Siemens AMS-150, ZyXEL’s NSA-220 lacks its own WLAN module. For the price of € 200, the buyer merely gets an empty NAS-case – the hard drives have to be purchased separately. These can be either SATA-I or SATA-II drives with a maximum capacity of 750 GByte each, which offers a quick and easy way to create a 1.5 Terabyte data storage point on your home network. The integrated A/V server provides audio and video files for playback on DLNA-compliant clients on the network.
If the NSA-220 is used only as a file server or an FTP server, every computer on the network can access the NAS – provided that the user has sufficient privileges.
