Fujitsu Siemens Activy Media Server 150 –TwonkyMedia uPNP Server
Summary
The Fujitsu Siemens Activy Media Server 150 represents an ideal combination of a classical NAS-device and a media server. The price for the 500 GByte version is phenomenal. Where else can you get a 500 GByte network hard drive that also doubles as a web/FTP/file server, and a multimedia streaming server as well for just € 200?
The one thing that we would have liked to see is the inclusion of WLAN functionality. However, if you have already set up a WLAN, LAN or powerline network, this factor may not be as important to you, since the server feels at home in any network. Thanks to the Gigabit Ethernet interface, transferring content to the AMS-150 is also very fast. Finally, if you run out of space on the internal drive, you can always add capacity by hooking up external drives via USB and eSATA.
