Tom Alexander, CEO of Everything Everywhere has resigned.

The chief executive of Everything Everywhere, parent company of Orange UK and T-Mobile UK has resigned. The company confirmed today that Alexander, the man who founded Virgin Mobile, will be leaving after only a year of service.

"Everything Everywhere Ltd today announced the appointment of Olaf Swantee as Chief Executive Officer as of 1st September 2011," Everything Everywhere said in a statement. "He will replace Tom Alexander who has resigned for personal reasons and to pursue other interests."

"It's been my privilege to serve Everything Everywhere these past twelve months, and Orange before that," Alexander said. "I'm proud of what we’ve accomplished ... There is never an easy time to leave a company that you care deeply for but, for personal reasons, I feel now is a good moment to step back," he continued, adding, "I am delighted to welcome Olaf into his new role. Olaf will be an excellent CEO and leader for Everything Everywhere moving forward."

Mr. Alexander was appointed CEO of Orange UK in 2008 and promoted to CEO of Everything Everywhere when the company was officially formed on July 1 last year following the merger of Orange UK and T-Mobile UK. Swantee will assume his new role on September 1. His current position is VP of Operations in Europe (except France) and Sourcing at France Telecom.
