European HTC Evo 3D Confirmed; UK Status TBC

by - source: CNet

Shooting 3D footage in 720p will not be an activity exclusive to American smartphone owners.

At CTIA Wireless in Florida, Sprint and HTC showed off the monstrous HTC EVO 3D, a superphone packing Nvidia’s Tegra 2 chipset (clocked to 1.2GHz), a 4.3-inch glasses-free 3D display, dual 5-megapixel cameras and support for Sprint’s WiMAX network. However, though there was plenty of EVO 3D talk for the States, HTC didn’t make a peep about European availability.

Well, fear not, for the HTC EVO 3D is coming to Europe, and might even make it as far as the United Kingdom. Thanks to a tweet from HTC France, we now know that the device will definitely be available for our friends across the channel.

"Un #HTC Evo 3D pour la France ça vous dit ? Nous oui ! Et même qu'il garde le même nom ;) Date de dispo non confirmée."

So, it’s definitely headed to France, HTC just won’t say when. As CNet points out, the company doesn’t exactly have the best track record when it comes to timely European releases of handsets already available in the U.S. (the Incredible took 10 months to get here), so we're trying to keep ourselves unexcited for now. The EVO 3D is set for a summer release in the United States, so let’s hope we’re not waiting until near summer 2012.

It will be here, early June. All this speculation doesn't help. At least one can access 3g direct in the U.K. and a wait of a few days would've been the difference between an HD desire and an HD desire s so it isn't such a bad thing having to be a little patient.
