Russian man fined for hacking into Estonian political website
A 20 year old Russian man has been fined for hacking into Estonian political parties’ websites and either blocking them or vandalising them in some way or another.
Dmitri Galushkevich blocked the website of reform Party of Prime Minister Andrus Ansip. This attack was one of many, which Estonia believes to have come from Russia.
Other attacks saw users redirected to images of Soviet soldiers and quotations from the late Martin Luther King about resisting "evil".
Estonia believes the attacks are a direct result of the removal of a Soviet war memorial from Tallinn city centre.
Galushkevich was fined just under £900 for his stunt and several others are under investigation.
