HP Envy 14 and 17 Official, Starting at $999
HP has finally made the Envy 14 and Envy 17 official and it looks like we're saying goodbye to the Envy 13.
HP has announced official specs for the latest additions to its Envy line and is said to be phasing out the Envy 13, replacing it with the newly announced Envy 14 (pictured). The Envy 14 and Envy 17 come with ATI Mobility Radeon discrete graphics and options for Intel's Core i3, i5 and i7 processors. They have matching aluminum cases with backlit keyboards and come with HD webcams and Beats by Dr Dre Audio. The Envy 17 is a little more extravagant packing support for ATI's multi-display Eyefinity technology, up to 2 TB of storage and the option for Blu-ray.
The most surprising thing about the Envy 14 is that despite being bigger and more up to date than the notebook it's replacing, it's actually quite a bit cheaper; the 14 starts at $999, $400 less than the Envy 13's $1,399 pricetag. The Envy 17 will start at $1,399 and will be available May 26 in the US. The Envy 14 will hit shelves a little bit later, on June 27.
