EeePad Transformer Already Selling Out
Following its UK debut, the Asus EeePad Transformer has finally made its way across the pond and landed in the U.S. And, judging by initial sales, it would seem the device is in pretty high demand.
Boasting a removable keyboard docking station, the EeePad Transformer was scheduled for an April 26 launch and launch it did. However, it seems those eager to get their hands on the device as soon as possible will need to act fast -- Engadget reports that Amazon’s ‘in stock’ page for the EeePad Transformer hit ‘out of stock’ status in just a few minutes. Target is also out of stock and over on Best Buy’s website, the device is listed as being on back order. Delivery there is scheduled for 1-2 weeks.
In case you’re just joining the EeePad Transformer party, specswise you’re looking at a 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, a front-facing 1.2-megapixel camera, a rear-facing 5-megapixel camera, a 10.1-inch Gorilla glass multitouch screen (1280x800), a combined battery life of 16 hours (9.5 hours without the dock), built-in SRS Sound technology for dynamic 3D stereo audio, and a mini HDMI output port. Additional features include 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, a G-sensor, light sensor, gyroscope, e-compass and GPS. The docking station provides a full QWERTY keyboard, unique Android Function keys, an SD card reader, two USB ports and the additional battery.
The 16GB model is retailing for $399 tag plus $149 for the keyboard dock, while the 32GB model is $499.

And the dock of course. After all, a tablet without one is just a useless entertainment device. A bit like the iPad for example (which has several dock options, but none of them match the Transformer Dock - additional battery life, an OS that actually works well with a keyboard and a convenient netbook design).
Oh, and the fact it's Asus, usually synonym for good quality at a pretty good price.
