EeePad Transformer 3G and Slider Landing August
Asus’ EeePad Transformer 3G and EeePad Slider will arrive just in time for the back-to-school shopping season.
Asus’ EeePad Transformer made a big splash when it was announced back in mid-March. With its 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor and 10.1-inch display, the tablet’s impressive specsheet, along with its keyboard peripheral, had everyone’s attention. However, when it launched in April, shoppers were only given the WiFi option. Pricing and availability for the 3G model were not revealed.
However, it seems the back-to-school crowd can add the 3G Transformer to their list of options, as the device will land in the UK this August. The Transformer won’t be alone, either. It’s brining the equally-unique EeePad Slider with it.
"Eee Pad Slider coming to the UK in Aug, as is the 3G Transformer," Asus UK wrote on its Facebook page. "We’ll provide specific details on where to buy and exact date of availability nearer the time. Thank you for being so patient."

So which will it be? The Transformer, with its detachable keyboard dock, or the Slider, with its slide out QWERTY keyboard? Both run on Honeycomb and boast 1GHz Tegra 2 chipsets and 10.1-inch, 1280x800-resolution displays. The biggest difference is that the Transformer’s keyboard has a built-in battery that will extend the life of your tablet to 16 hours (up from eight hours without the dock).
We’ll update when we know more about pricing and availability.
