Duke Nukem 3D Hits Xbox Live
According to Xboxic (which cites Game Trailers TV), the Xbox Live Arcade version of Duke Nukem 3D is scheduled for release next week.
The rumors and speculation surrounding the Duke Nukem 3D sequal, Duke Nukem Forever, mean that anytime we hear something Duke-related that seems like it could be solid, verified information, we take it with a pinch of salt. However, we’re tentatively getting excited about the release of the XBL version of DN3D, which we’re apparently going to see next next Wednesday.
Fans of Duke Nukem are blue in the face holding their breath for Duke Nukem Forever. The sequel announced the year after Duke 3D was released has been in the works for the last 11 years. We’ve seen it at E3 twice and the rumor mill has been kicked into overdrive more times than we can count. To some fans the re-release of Duke 3D might seem a little boring, however, it’s not all bad.
The XBL version of Duke Nukem isn’t going to be a carbon copy of what you played in 1996. Back then you didn’t have the luxury of online multiplayer and co-op (for up to eight people), in game clip-recording and the ability to rewind to any point in a level.
No words on price yet but we reckon it’ll be a hit no matter what the price. You can’t put a price on nostalgia.
