Dell Mini 9 Hacked to Include Accelerometer
Dell's Mini 9 gets an accelerometer.
The Dell Mini 9 already has quite a reputation with Apple fans for being the most hackable netbook there is. Dubbed the 'hackintosh,' many intrepid Mac OS X fans have managed to get the operating system running on the Dell-brand laptop. Now it's time for Windows fans to have a go at modding the machine.
The latest hack for the ultra portable notebook is one that allows you to add an accelerometer to your netbook. Some of you may have already turned your Dell Mini 9 into a nice little Windows 7 slate tablet (as per this mod). If you have, then this improvement should complete the netbook to tablet transformation.

Don't care it's an Atom, don't care it's underpowered, that is just wow and so very, very cool.

Agreed.
It could use a bit more juice. Stronger hardware.

Apparently it has thermal dissipation issues already - anything stronger (which doesn't exist until Pineview comes out anyway - Intel always banned N330 from the netbook segment) will just bake the thing.

If they've used some graphics accelerators from nVidia they might have solved some of the issues. Taking some of the load off the CPU thus can prove a bit more faster. ( Not exactly efficient ) As for thermal issues...I think there is a new kind of silicon that can conduct heat better and if that's not enough, there is diamond which is even better ( though not on a price level
