The PlayStation 3
For us there’s a lot of confusion and debate about the Playstation 3. This may or may not have anything to do with their inane advertising campaign (“This is living” Weirds me out every time- Ed.).
We know that many have rushed to complain about the poor “realisation” of this expensive console. An example of this is the release of the upcoming DualShock 3 SixAxis controller which allows the controller to vibrate. Anyone who owns a Playstation 2 knows all about this, and you’re just left to wonder why they didn’t include it the first time around.
There’s also every chance that people harbour a grudge from November last year when the console was delayed. Or maybe some are annoyed at the fact that Solid Snake is making his Wii Debut before his PS3 debut. People are moaning about that on every forum on the web.
First we have to put the problems aside and look at some of the tasty features packed into the console. We all know that it looks the part sporting a “spider-man” inspired logo against its glossy black finish. While it’s a little chunky, that’s not a bad thing, fat bottomed girls and all that.
The console boasts the following: Blu-Ray 2X, Graphics processing by the Nvidia RSX, “Synergistic Processing Elements” usually called SPE, Wi-Fi networking on the models >20 GB and Bluetooth 2.0.
It is an impressive piece of kit. What concerns us more is whether or not you should head out and grab one this Christmas. We’re going to look beyond the basic specs to examine issues about games.
Initially consumers were worried that they’d miss out on some titles which were only released in the US and Japanese markets. Forums are filled with users under the impression that Euro gamers are missing out. It’s true that Europeans wait around for between 3 and 18 days until PS3 games find their way to our shores. Another concern is about exclusive titles.
Only an estimated one in three games are exclusive causing us to wonder about the consoles supposed supremacy when it comes to graphics. Do they spruce them up, or is it just another lazy port? That aside we’re assured that this lack of games is becoming less and less evident all the time.
The only thing we want you to take away is the idea that the Playstation 3 is still finding its feet. There’s every chance you should wait for a price-drop or wait for a top of the range exclusive title. This is just our little ol’opinion is all.

Apart form that, I guess the PSP isn't too big an omission, I haven't really heard anyting about it since the release of the slim, and nothing too much about the games either. That might just be me though.
I really want to know what my chances are of getting a DS though, it just says I can find one easier than a Wii, but there's no real indication of how hard it'd be
