The man who nearly killed Winston Churchill wants to be your friend
For the last few weeks we’ve been keeping you updated with Codemasters’ search for the man who inspired the events for it’s latest title, Turning Point : Fall of Liberty.
Mario Contasino was a taxi driver who accidentally knocked down Winston Churchill in 1931 when the future prime minister looked the wrong way whilst crossing the road in New York City.
Although Churchill made a full recovery following the accident, Turning Point : Fall of Liberty revolves around what might have happened had Churchill died as a result of his injuries.
Codesmasters wants to honour the descendants of Contasino but there’s only one problem, they couldn’t find them. Hired hands manage to track down Contasino but unfortunately he died in 1989. They are however, still trying to locate living relatives of Contasino.
Tapping into the global social notworking phenomenon, Codemasters has created a Facebook profile for Mario Contasino. Those who add Mario Contasino as a friend on their Facebook profile will automatically be entered into a competition to win a PlayStation 3 and a copy of Turning Point : Fall of Liberty.
