Channel 4 Announces New iOS App
Channel 4 has just released a new iOS app for iPhone and iPad users.
Channel 4 today launched its new iPad, iPhone and iPod touch app dubbed 'Channel 4 News.' Offering video, special reports, blogs and picture galleries, Channel 4 says the app costs users nothing and also allows them to catch up with video content from the last seven days from Channel 4 News (this includes both the Channel 4 News at 1900 and noon programming). Special reports and photo galleries will only be available to iPad users.
"We know our audience, and in particular many of our website users, are very tech-savvy and increasingly, want to engage with Channel 4 News through social media and through their mobile device," said Paul Brannan, Senior Programme Editor, Online at Channel 4 News. "We're happy that this app will deliver that to them in a way that highlights the best of our original journalism."
The app launches this Friday with iOS 3.1.3 or newer being supported. According to Channel 4 News, an Android version is coming in the next few months.
