Call of Duty 4 becomes third PS3 title to reach two million copies
Foster City (CA) - Call of Duty 4 has become one of three titles on the Playstation 3 to sell over two million units, reaching the milestone in less than three months.
That makes it the fastest-selling PS3 game to date, according to industry sales tracker VG Chartz. Call of Duty 4 was released on November 5, 2007 on the PS3, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, PC, and Mac. It was one of the top holiday sellers on most of these platforms.
Call of Duty 4 has received additional buzz because it is the first one in the Call of Duty series that does not revolve around World War II. Instead, it takes place in a modern-day atmosphere.
The only other PS3 titles to climb over two million copies sold are Motorstorm and Resistance, both of which were released with the console’s launch in late 2006.
