Modern Warfare 2 Trailer Released, Looking Good
Still modern. Still warfare.
Okay, so it’s not called Call of Duty anymore. Now it’s just Modern Warfare, and the first real trailer for the sequel is here.
Originally announced at the Game Developers Conference in late March, Modern Warfare 2 is the direct follow-up to the immensely popular Call of Duty 4. When we first learned about it, the first materials contained nearly no visual footage, instead only relying on audio.
Now we have a full two-minute trailer showing off real-time footage. As expected, the game is still very much about warfare – and it’s still set in modern times. When Call of Duty 4 came out, it was one of the best looking games at the time. Modern Warfare 2 appears to be built from the same base technology as it’s predecessor, though we’re sure that there’s been several upgrades all around.
Modern Warfare 2 will be in stores on November 10, 2009. Infinity Ward hasn’t yet said which for which platforms it’ll be hitting, but Xbox 360, PS3 and the PC are safe bets.
